Finland vs Armenia
Finland tried to rise as host after receiving two poor results in EURO qualifiers. This time they will face Armenia in the 8th week of Group J. The match is planned to be held on Tuesday (10/15) night at the Veritas Stadium.
Markku Kanerva’s squad failed to add points in the last two matches due to losing to Italy and Bosnia & Herzegovina, each with a score of 1-2 and 4-1. They did perform poorly in the match so they only created 1 and 2 shots on target.
Meanwhile, Armenia can only reap 1-1 draws when they travel to the Liechtenstein base last Sunday (10/13). The result was already statistically fair because they only released 3 shots on target, which was answered twice by the host. With this result, Armenia ranks 3 with 10 points with Bosnia below it, while Finland ranks 2 with 12 points.
The tight competition will certainly make tomorrow’s match hotter. Finland is quite confident after winning the first round with a score of 0-2 despite acting as an Armenian guest. In addition, they did keep a good record as a host with 2 wins over Bosnia and Greece before the record stopped at the hands of Italy in the sixth week yesterday.
In contrast, Armenia’s away record is still windy because it lost to Bosnia, won in Greece, then last weekend drew at Liechtenstein. This condition will be used by Finland’s squad to get back to winning ways, while locking up the runner-up position. That position became the most realistic mission than chasing Italy at the top with 21 points. Teemu Pukki is also expected to score again after becoming the temporary top scorer of Group J with a score of 5 goals.
