The Crusaders received an exciting challenge in match day 30 of the Northern Irish League facing Glenavon on the rise. This match was held at the Seaview Stadium on Saturday (23/2).
Crusaders just enjoyed their 18th victory Saturday (16/2) then with a score of 4-2 over Coleraine. David Cushley starred the match through brace on 52 and 59 minutes, assisted by 1 goal from Colin Coates and Ronan Hale. This was a quick response after receiving a 1-0 defeat at Dungannon Swifts which was the first match of the month.
Glenavon himself had to wait until Tuesday (19/2) to arrive at Glentoran’s home and return with a 1-2 victory. The kids had made anxieties because they could only score 82 minutes through the action of Gary Hamilton, and sealed the victory 6 minutes later through Conor McCloskey.
The visit helped Glenavon win this month’s opening 2 matches which began with a 2-0 party over Ards. Currently children are ranked 4th with a difference of 6 points from Crusaders who landed right above them.
Glenavon was asked to keep showing an impressive appearance because he was beaten 3 goals without reply when he arrived at Seaview mid-November. This was the first defeat after they won 2-3, then held a 1-1 draw on a previous visit.
