Lincoln City vs Rotherham United
Lincoln City collapsed before the third week of the Johnstones Paint Trophy. They will act as host to host Rotherham Utd at Sincil Bank Stadium. They must score if they want to turn on their hopes to escape.
Currently they are the last contestants for Group H who have not yet earned points after losing to Doncester (3-1) and Man Utd Academy (0-1). The problem is, they have only won 2 times since August, the remaining 4 draws, and 11 defeats. This entry was received after Saturday (9/11) and then drew 1-1 against Ipswich Town in the first round of the FA Cup.
Meanwhile, Rotherham Utd received a contrasting result in which they won over Maidenhead Utd on the same day and contest. They managed to use Aaron Massey’s red card (54 ‘) to win with a score of 1-3.
The result also makes them qualify for the next round, as well as being the fourth successive victory in away matches. Previously, they had also overcome the resistance of Blackpool (1-2), Ipswich Town (0-2), and Gillingham (0-3).
That trend will be used by Matt Crooks and colleagues to continue to reap positive results. Currently they are ranked 3 with 3 points, 6 points difference from Man Utd Academy at the top, but the goal difference from Doncaster at number 2. That is, the opportunity to qualify is still so open, as well as replying to a meeting in League 2 August when they defeated by a score of 0-2. It was the first defeat after securing 5 previous meetings in various competitions.
Our Prediction: Over 2.5
Odds: 1.80
