Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao FC vs Hebei
Last October Guangzhou Evergrande managed to win a landslide score at Hebei CFFC headquarters. This weekend they wanted to hold the same party when changing roles as host on CSL 14th match day. Clashes opened Saturday (22/6) at Tianhe Stadium.
In yesterday’s match Guangzhou Evergrande did appear more clinical with 9 shots on the target of 54% possession which was only replied twice by Hebei CFFC. As a result, they managed to buy 3 goals from Gao Lin, Alan Carvalho, and Yu Hanchao, while the entire host effort failed to become a goal.
Guangzhou Evergrande returned to impressive performances this season with a collection of 31 points and finished runner-up. The position was indeed worthy of their occupation after throwing four opponents in a row at the CSL stage with a victory, not including two appearances in the Asian Champions League until Tuesday (18/6) with a score of 2-1 over Shandong Luneng. Even this achievement helped them occupy the runner-up position with 31 points.
On the one hand, Hebei CFFC is still having difficulty just entering the top 10 zone and having to line up in 12th place with 12 points. They began to crawl there after getting 7 points in just the last 3 matches thanks to a 1-0 score against Dalian Yifang last weekend.
In other words, the increasing trend experienced by Hebei CFFC is a signal that must be watched out, especially if they are currently only 3 points adrift of position 9. Of course that fact will make them even more motivated.
