Budapest Honved vs Soroksar
Hungarian Cup has entered the semi-final phase and where one of the semi-final matches presents a match between Honved acting as the host to host SOROKSAR at Hidegkuti Nándor Stadion. The two teams also actually met at the same event in 2015 and in the match the two teams drew 3-3, it was quite interesting to see that history.
SOROKSAR themselves in the previous round got a dramatic victory, having to get rid of Puskás FC through a drama of penalties after a 1-1 draw, arguably indeed the visitors’ efforts to penetrate this phase were no easier than Honved. Given that SOROKSAR is a team that plays in Division 2 in other words, this is an achievement for them.
As for Honved in the quarter-finals yesterday they got rid of Budaörs with a 6-3 aggregate, this result became an improvement also for Honved because in the last season they stopped in the quarter-finals after falling against Debrecen. Regardless of the results of the round yesterday, Honved is the representative of the major leagues which currently occupies 5th place in the standings.
Facing this match both teams both failed to win in the last game, SOROKSAR lost to Vasas with a score of 4-0 while Honved they drew 1-1 against Debrecen. For the chance of victory in this match, it seems reasonable if Honved, who plays at a better level, is favored and, moreover, benefits from his own home, most likely SOROCHAR will be defeated.
