Austria vs Latvia
The fifth week of EURO qualification is the Austrian public’s most awaited moment. Because, they will face Latvia which is the weakest participant in Group G at the Red Bull Arena Salzburg.
Austria had opened their campaign with two successive defeats from Poland and Israel. However, the crisis was over and was replaced by victories over Slovenia and Northern Macedonia. In fact, they managed to bring the score 1-4 in the latest game using Marko Arnautovic brace (62 ‘P, 82’).
Latvia itself does not move from the position of caretaker because it has not reaped the numbers at all. Finally, they were crushed by the score 0-5 by Slovenia when playing host.
The visit to Salzburg will be the third away match for Latvia after giving up at home to Northern Macedonia and Poland. With a report card like this, they are predicted to return to receive bad results, especially if Austria managed to hold a goal party in its last fight. The capital will be used to maintain the momentum of the cage which in the previous week only won 1-0 over Slovenia.
The last duel of the two national teams occurred in mid-2011 with a 3-1 position for Austria. Latvia played out of control so they received 3 red cards, even though it was only a trial. Austria has the opportunity to rise to the runner-up position if it is able to win this fight, replacing Israel who are just 1 point ahead there.
Our Prediction: Over 2.5
Odds: 1.39
