Torino vs Debrecen
Torino will begin their steps towards the Europa League stage by facing Debrecen in the second round qualifier. Torino must be able to maximize every game they play because the road to the Europa League is still quite long.
Torino is actually only able to finish in 7th place in the final standings or Serie A season 2018/2019 then or outside the European competition zone. However, Torino has the right to qualify for the Europa League because AC Milan who finished fifth must be disqualified because of the FFP problem. Torino had to start steps from the second round and at least had to go through 3 rounds to really get to the Europa League. In this initial step Torino will face the representative of Bulgaria, Debrecen where for the first leg of Toro Science will first act as the host. Torino must be able to maximize this first leg so that the match in the second leg will be easier for the Turin team.
Torino actually has a big enough opportunity to overtake Debrecen’s resistance considering that Torino’s quality is still better than the Bulgarian representative. But Torino must be careful because in readiness, Debrecen’s preparations are arguably better prepared considering they have played 2 official matches this season when they eliminated Kukesi in the first qualifying round. While Torino, their preparations so far have only made 1 trial match, even then when dealing with a team from Lega Pro, Pro Partita with a score of 3-2.
In quality, Torino is still better than Debrecen. However, Debrecen is superior about matchfitness. That means, Torino is not really hot ahead of this fight. The Torino coach, Walter Mazzarri, does not seem to be going to change the composition of his players much like in the trial match against Pro Partita then in the match against Debrecen later.
