BATE Borisov vs Piast Gliwice
The Belarusian team BATE Borisov will face Piast Gliwice of the Polish team in the UEFA Champions League qualifying match. Where in this first leg match BATE Borisov benefited from playing at home, namely Borisov Arena, just like most other matches the two teams had never met before so it became the first meeting.
Piast Gliwice was lucky to be able to take part in this round because they last season won the Polish League championship, so they recorded a history of winning the competition and for the first time being able to penetrate the Champions League qualifying round. Of course this was a very memorable match for them because Piast Gliwice’s challenge was to maintain their name as Poland’s best team last season.
Similar to BATE Borisov who came out as the defending champion of the Belarus League last season, BATE Borisov is currently still competing in the race for the top of the table as a temporary 2 nd team. However, unlike Piast Gliwice, where BATE Borisov was one of the qualifying contestants most often participated and of course their experience differed greatly.
BATE Borisov last season almost joined the group stage but was knocked out in the play-off against PSV Eindhoven. Seeing the flying hours of two very different teams, it’s natural to assume this match belongs to BATE Borisov. The difference in quality and profit of the cage is the main factor, most likely Piast Gliwice will be defeated.
