Egypt vs Tanzania
Thursday (13/6), Egypt will carry out their second trial after appearing at the African Cup of Nations. This time they will act as host to face Tanzania. The game is broadcast live from Borg El Arab Stadium.
The first trial was held at the end of March at home to Nigeria, and Egypt had to admit the hosts’ advantage which shot through Paul Onuachu’s only goal. In fact, the goal was born in the first minute after kick off.
Of course Egypt does not want it to happen again, especially if it is now playing as the host. Their record is still good with that role with three consecutive wins over Niger, Swaziland and Tunisia with a score of 6-0, 4-1 and 3-2 respectively.
Meanwhile, Tanzania will carry out its first trial in the match tomorrow after closing the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier with a 3-0 party over Uganda. That victory helped them qualify as runners-up in Group L with a two-point difference from Lesotho below.
Beyond that euphoria, Tanzania still kept a bad record in the away match after failing to win 6 consecutive parties, more precisely with a score of 2-1, 1-0, 4-1, 0-0, 3-0, and 1-0 for Rwanda, Kenya, Algeria, Yganda, Cape Verde, and Lesotho. With a record like this, it will be a difficult task to just look for a draw at home to Egypt.
Three years ago the two countries met at the African Cup with Egypt’s 3-0 home victory, then won again 0-2 as a guest of Tanzania. The meeting record and recent trends are likely to make the tradition continue.
